ENID, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District began work to replace the Pope Road access bridge at the main entrance to Enid Lake, located approximately one mile off Interstate 55 in Yalobusha, Panola and Lafayette counties.
The bridge was closed May 2018 after a routine inspection found deficiencies. A Rock Construction Company from Greenwood, Mississippi, was awarded the contract to demolish the existing bridge and to construct its replacement. Demolition will begin in January, and construction of the new bridge will begin shortly after the demolition’s completion.
