This summer, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg is promoting life jacket use with the WEAR IT to Win It campaign on Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter)!

Memorial Day Weekend, May 23rd through July 5th, you could win a prize just by sharing photos of yourself or your friends and family wearing a life jacket! Send photos to the following email address with “Wear it to Win It” in the subject line: Sarah.E.Nix@usace.army.mil.
    
A panel of judges will select a winner each week from all entries and the winning photo will be shared on the Vicksburg District Facebook page, Instagram page, and on X (Twitter).

If we choose your photo, you could win two free nights of camping (excluding holiday weekends), or one free picnic shelter reservation with a day pass—granting free access to a Corps Park for one day (excluding holiday weekends). Prizes are only valid for Corps-managed facilities in the Vicksburg district. Since all reservations are now reservable through www.recreation.gov for campsites and pavilions, winners MUST make their reservations and pay online or by phone and then contact the campgrounds’ and/or projects’ front office, requesting a refund for the stay or pavilion rental (Ex. Booking at Crystal Springs Campground, the camper must contact Lake Ouachita Project Office for Refund).

We will keep records of the weekly winners, and refund camping fees and pavilion fees after winners’ book reservations.  Throughout summer, we will award a total of 12 nights of free camping or 6 picnic shelter reservation/daily pass combos. A Grand Prize of an Annual Pass good for any Corps managed facility within the US or 4 nights camping (excluding holiday weekends) within the Vicksburg District, will also be awarded.

Winners will be announced and notified via email. Once selected, winners will be asked to provide their contact information to the Corps to ensure receipt of their prizes. We will only award one prize per photographer, but feel free to post multiple photos throughout the summer. Corps employees and immediate family members may participate in the promotion but are not eligible to win prizes.

Winning photos shared on our Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter) pages may be re-used in other Corps communication products, such as websites, blogs, and brochures.  So spread the word, tell your friends and let's have some fun showing how we WEAR IT!

Prize Details/Instructions:

Upon email confirmation from an Army Corps’ Representative of your prize, prize winners should proceed as follows:

1) Book your campsite or picnic shelter reservation through recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777. 

a. Prize is only valid for picnic shelters and campgrounds within the Vicksburg District.

b. Prize is valid for 2 nights of camping or 1 day-use shelter reservation and 1 day-use pass.

c. Campground reservation prizes must be redeemed by December 31, 2024; picnic shelter reservations must be redeemed by September 1, 2024.

2) With your confirmation number for your reservation and confirmation email from the Army Corps, contact the Lake/Project Office via phone during normal business hours.

3) Rangers at the project will confirm your reservation and prize award and refund your reservation to the amount of 2 campground nights or 1 day of picnic shelter reservations.
