    Vicksburg, MS - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District is accepting applications for the annual special youth deer hunt at the Grenada Lake Dam Area.
  • Lindy C. Boggs Lock on the Red River closed to traffic for repairs

    VICKSBURG, Miss. -- Lindy C. Boggs Lock on the Red River is currently closed to all navigation traffic so we can repair a crack in the miter gate anchorage. Crews are currently on site Boggs Lock is estimated to be closed from 10 days to six weeks, depending on the severity of the damage to the anchorage. The extent of damage may not be known until concrete around the anchorage is removed. The estimated closure time may be extended if additional repairs are deemed necessary. The district remains in regular communication with stakeholders about locking operations.

    VICKSBURG, Miss.-- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District’s Plant Section is the logistical muscle behind numerous district operations, but few see its true reach. Headed by Plant Section Chief Paul Richards, the 20-person team is the logistical backbone of the district’s Navigation Branch. Team members support not only district headquarters in Vicksburg, but the Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) and other districts as needed.

    Vicksburg, Miss. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month Oct. 4 at its headquarters in Vicksburg, Mississippi. USACE Pacific Ocean Division Regional Business Director Jose Sánchez spoke to employees about his time as the agency’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council chair, as well as his role in policy development and research oversight. In addition to a Bronze Order of the de Fleury Medal and numerous honors, Sánchez is a two-time honoree of Hispanic Business Magazine’s 100 most influential Hispanic professionals in the United States.
