Volunteering

At the Vicksburg District, we care for hundreds of thousands of acres of the great outdoors, manage cultural and natural resources and work hard to provide the best possible recreation experience for our visitors. We can always use a helping hand with these important missions.

We’re looking for volunteers who can:

  • Host a campground
  • Build and maintain nature trails
  • Maintain bird boxes
  • Coordinate special events
  • Give interpretive tours
  • Build wildlife habitats
  • Help at clean-up events

If you’re interested in caring for nature and giving back to your community, please contact a district recreation site near you:

Partnerships

Partnering is an essential tool for managing our recreation sites and natural resources. We work with local and state governments, Native American tribes, private and public organizations and other partners to protect wildlife, improve habitats and enhance recreation facilities.
