Vicksburg, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District announces its 2016 National Recreation Reservation System (NRRSTM) plans for recreational areas at Arkabutla, Enid, Grenada and Sardis lakes in north Mississippi.

The NRRSTM is operated nationally by Reserve America, a contractor responsible for maintaining a national call center and an internet site. The Vicksburg District campsites in Mississippi may be reserved to be used for dates from March 1 to October 31 each year. Class A campsites may be reserved up to 6 months in advance of the date of use by phoning the nationwide toll free number, 1-877-444-6777, or by using the Internet at www.Recreation.com. During the recreation season, reservations may be made at a campground fee booth for reservations at that campground only. The NRRSTM accepts Visa, AMEX, Discover and MasterCard. The NRRS no longer accepts bank checks or certified checks for reservations.

Class A campgrounds in north Mississippi which are on the NRRSTM include North Graysport and North Abutment at Grenada Lake; Wallace Creek, Persimmon Hill, Chickasaw Hill and Water Valley Landing at Enid Lake; Clear Creek at Sardis Lake; and Hernando Point, Dub Patton Area, and South Abutment at Arkabutla Lake.

Many Class A campsites at the four lakes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. This insures that if a camping trip is planned "on the spur of the moment", there will be campsites available for customers who do not have reservations.

In 2016, reservations for use of picnic shelters or amphitheaters will be made at the particular field office. For further information on campsites or picnic shelters in the Vicksburg District, please call the applicable field office:
