Sardis Lake Hosting Public Meeting on Project Master Plan

The Vicksburg District encompasses a 68,000-square-mile area across portions of Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana that holds seven major river basins and incorporates approximately 460 miles of mainline levees. VICKSBURG, Miss… The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sardis Lake Field Office has scheduled a public meeting regarding the update of the Project Master Plan. The meeting will be held April 2, 2015, 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Oxford National Guard Armory located on Ed Perry Boulevard, next to the Oxford Convention Center.

The purposes of the meeting are to open channels of communication, identify public interests and concerns, and solicit input on significant issues.

The Project Master Plan is the strategic land use management document that guides the comprehensive management and development of all projects recreational, natural, and cultural resources. The goal of the update is to identify the best management practices to respond to regional needs, resource capabilities, and expressed public interests consistent with the authorized project purposes.

All residents of the community and interested parties are invited to attend and submit comments. If you are unable to attend and wish to submit a comment you may do so either by mail to Sardis Lake Field Office, 2400 Highway 315 Scenic Loop, Sardis, Mississippi 38666, or email to sardis-lake@usace.army.mil.
