Vicksburg, Miss… The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Vicksburg District has hired Blake Davis and Justin Giles as hydraulic engineers with the Hydraulics Branch of the Engineering Division.

They will use numerical modeling and inundation mapping to assist in the support of flood risk management throughout the Vicksburg District and the nation. They will be an integral part of developing flood inundation models and performing dam break modeling research to support the critical infrastructure and resiliency program.

Davis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University.
He is a native of Clinton and a graduate of Clinton High School. He is married to the former Ashton Brown of Rolling Fork.

Giles earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil and environmental engineering from Mississippi State University. He is a native of Collinsville and a graduate of West Lauderdale High School. He is married to the former Kelsie Murren of Meridian.

The Corps is involved with a wide spectrum of public works projects that include environmental protection, water supply, recreation, flood damage and reduction, homeland security, military construction, and support to other governmental agencies.
