The Vicksburg District encompasses a 68,000-square-mile area across portions of Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana that holds seven major river basins and incorporates approximately 460 miles of mainline levees. The district is engaged in hundreds of projects and supports disaster response in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

Vicksburg, Miss…The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District (Corps) is celebrating its ninth annual Founder’s Day. This celebration is in observance of the District’s 140th year of service to our Nation.

During the Founder’s Day ceremony, Col. Cross will recognize team members with 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of service to the Corps by presenting them with Length of Service Awards.

 The Vicksburg District services a 68,000-square-mile area within Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, with missions of providing for commercial navigation, hydropower, recreation, reduction of flood damages, protecting the environment, recreation, water supply, and providing support for others.  The approximate 1,000 person workforce of the Vicksburg District is eager to serve you and to be the Engineer of Choice for the 21st Century.
