Former Alcorn State instructor begins new career with Corps of Engineers

Vicksburg – Charlene Mosley, a native of Houston, Mississippi is now the newest member of the Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District family. Mosley, a graduate of Houston High School, was recently selected for a position in the Vicksburg District’s regulatory office. The regulatory office is responsible for protecting our nation's aquatic resources and ecosystems.

The regulatory office is responsible for protecting our nation's aquatic resources and ecosystems.

 

     She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in biochemistry from the University of Mississippi, and earned her Master’s Degree in biology from Alcorn State University. Mosley previously was an instructor at Alcorn State University.

 

     Mosley, the former Charlene Lawrence, has been living in Vicksburg for six years and has been married to Joe N. Lawrence for 10 years, and they have two children.

 

     The Vicksburg District is the steward of the lands and waters of our nation. The civil works mission of the District is to manage and conserve America’s waterways for navigation and commerce and stay consistent with ecosystem management principles. The District provides quality public outdoor recreation experiences to serve the needs of present and future generations.
