Sardis Lake Accepting Applications for Youth Deer Hunt in January

VICKSBURG, Miss The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Sardis Lake announces that they are now accepting applications for a youth deer hunt on the weekend of January 9-11, 2026.

Applications for the hunts can be completed in person at the Sardis Lake Field Office or downloaded from the Sardis Lake website: https://www.mvk.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Sardis-Lake/. They can then be mailed to the Sardis Lake Field Office at: 2400 Hwy. 315 Scenic Route, Sardis, MS 38666, or emailed to walter.h.sullivant@usace.army.mil.

Applications must be submitted by 3:00 p.m. on December 17, 2025. Any missing or false information will result in a rejection of the application. The dates and application periods for the additional hunts will be announced at a later date.

The hunts will be open to youth between the ages 8 and 15 and will be held at the Sardis Waterfowl Refuge.

All youth hunters must be accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older. The accompanying adult is encouraged to possess a general knowledge of State and Federal deer hunting regulations as these will be enforced.
