USACE Vicksburg District Announces Arkabutla Lake Archery Hunt

VICKSBURG, Miss. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District announces that Arkabutla Lake will hold its special management archery deer hunt October 24-26 and October 31 – November 2, 2025. Each of the two hunts will last three days and applicants must have a valid Mississippi hunting license. 

Applications are available at the Arkabutla Lake Field Office, and online at https://www.mvk.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Arkabutla-Lake/.

The deadline for receiving applications is 3:00 PM, August 27, 2025. Applicants will be drawn in a random order until all available spots are filled. The drawing will take place September 2, 2025, and successfully drawn applicants will be notified via email or phone call.

Once notified, chosen applicants will be informed about the opportunity to scout the hunting area until September 30, 2025. The hunting area and number of applicants may vary based on closures below the dam.
