Vicksburg, Miss…Sardis Lake of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District and Mugshots of Oxford, Mississippi are partnering to host Sardis Lake’s 41st Annual Clean-Up Day, Saturday September 16, 2017, at Old Sardis Road. Those interested in participating will need to register beginning at 7:00 a.m. in the parking lot at the end of Old Sardis Road.
Litter pick up will begin at 8:00 a.m. until noon. All clean up supplies will be provided by the Corps.
Last year the 75 volunteers collected two tons of trash during Sardis’ Clean-Up Day. Brian Johnson, supervisory natural resource specialist at Sardis Lake, stated, “We look forward to seeing area students from schools and universities participate as in years past, and hopefully the number of participants will double from last year. Mugshots of Oxford are willing participants who are always eager to assist with the beautification of Sardis Lake.”
