    USACE serves on unified team to develop water supply resiliency playbook for Jackson, MS

    During late August of this year, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) was knee deep supporting the country with mission assignments that the Corps of Engineers is familiar with such as wildfires, floods, and hurricanes. One unexpected crisis ramped up USACE for an enterprise-wide, unified response to a not so familiar mission assignment – drinking water supply.

    USACE Vicksburg District Kent Parrish Recognized for 38 years of Service

    Passion is a characteristic that drives improvement, ingenuity, inspiration, and influence. At the end of 2021, a very passionate U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District employee retired with over 38 years of federal service. Programs and Project Management Division’s (PPMD) Senior Project Manager Kent Parrish’s retirement brought closure to a long, successful, and memorable career. Kent served many roles throughout his time with USACE. He was known as a subject matter expert, teacher, mentor, and most importantly, a friend to countless people throughout the Vicksburg District region.

    Success comes in many forms, and many attribute their personal success to those who have helped them achieve it. Holly Porter, Project Manager with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District, credits her success to those who helped pave the way for her. Porter was recently named the 2021 USACE Program Manager of the Year. This national recognition highlighted the work Holly has done and the strides she has made throughout the region.

    USACE Vicksburg District Dredge Jadwin embarks for 2021 season of dredging

    On May 3, 2021, the Dredge Jadwin, with a crew of around 50 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District team members, departed from the Vicksburg Harbor for its annual season of dredging along the Mississippi River and its tributaries.
