U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District Commander Col. Robert A. Hilliard and Beechwood Elementary School principal David Adams hold an adoption certificate Nov. 4 at Beechwood Elementary School in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The certificate commemorates the partnership between the district and the school for the 2019-2020 school year. The Vicksburg District's outreach committee coordinates the adopt-a-school program annually. The program provides the district an opportunity to inspire future leaders in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics; enhance local understanding of the USACE mission; and encourage community outreach participation from USACE employees.
