Vicksburg District New Flood Control and Hydropower Chief
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District recently appointed Tom Shaw as the new Chief of Flood Control and Hydropower Section in the Project Resource Management Branch. Shaw will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of over 1400 miles of levees and multiple flood control projects on the Mississippi River levee system in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. His section is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of flood control projects on the Red River system, Ouachita River system, Yazoo River basin and Beauf-Tensas River basin. The Flood Control and Hydropower section has an annual budget of approximately $14 million.
