National Safe Boating Week Being Observed at Corps Lakes

VICKSBURG, Miss…National Safe Boating Week is May 18-24 at all Corps lakes. This coincides with the National Safe Boating Week Campaign, a national observance initiated by the National Safe Boating Council. The web address for the “Wear It Campaign” is http://www.safeboatingcampaign.com. Across the country, federal agencies with access to water will host events with an emphasis on safe boating and rescue techniques and teach visitors how to stay safe while recreating in or near water. Boaters can check with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for the latest nautical charts at www.nauticalcharts.noaa.gov.
