Lake Ouachita Volunteer Wins National Award

VICKSBURG, MISS… A volunteer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Lake Ouachita Project, Bill Barnes, was selected as the recipient of the 2016 National Volunteer Award. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in partnership with the Corps Foundation, created this award to recognize the extraordinary service provided by volunteers.

Corps Signs Wastewater System Rehabilitation Project

VICKSBURG, MISS… The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Vicksburg District has entered into a Partnership Project Agreement with the town of Noxapater in Winston County. The signing of the Wastewater System Rehabilitation Project (Section 592 Program) was held at the District Headquarters Building, on August 29, 2017.

Vicksburg District Hosts Founder’s Day

VICKSBURG, MISS…The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District hosted Founders Day in commemoration of the District’s 144 years of service to the nation. This event celebrates the founding of the Vicksburg district by Capt. William Henry Harrison Benyaurd on August 18, 1879. The Corps of Engineers has maintained a continuous presence in Vicksburg ever since.

Corps Schedules Signing of Partnership Project Agreements

Vicksburg, Miss…The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District will enter into Partnership Project Agreements with leaders of several Mississippi communities. The signing of the agreements will be held at District Headquarters building on August 29 and 30, 2017. These agreements are a part of the Mississippi Environmental Infrastructure Program (Section 592) as authorized by the Water Resources Development Act of 1999.
