  • Arkabutla Lake Youth Waterfowl Hunt 2014

    Vicksburg, Miss… The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District (Corps) will partner with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) to host the 2014 youth waterfowl hunt. The outdoor event will be held 25 and 26 January and provides an opportunity for experienced hunters to teach the younger generations of hunters the proper techniques and ethics of the waterfowl sport. The hunt will only be open to youth 10 to 15 years of age with all participants required to be accompanied by an adult. Each hunter will be responsible for meeting all age appropriate state and federal waterfowl hunting regulations.
  • Notice of Availability Of Leased Lands near Grenada Lake

    Vicksburg, Miss… The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District is offering agricultural land for lease to the public. These sections of agricultural lands consist of two tracts in Calhoun County and one tract in Yalobusha County on Grenada Lake. The Notice of Availability (NOA) number for these tracts is DACW38-9-14-32.
  • Vicksburg District Will Host Deer Hunt For Physically Challenged

    Vicksburg, Miss…The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Louisiana Field Office (LFO) will host its ninth annual physically challenged deer hunt on Saturday, 18 January 2014, at the Columbia Lock and Dam. Eight disabled hunters will be randomly selected to hunt on approximately 400 acres adjacent to the Columbia Lock and Dam located near Columbia, Louisiana. The deadline to apply is 3 January 2014 with eight hunters being selected by random drawing on 6 January 2014.

  • 2014 Arkabutla Lake Youth Raccoon Hunt

    Vicksburg, Miss… The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District (Corps) will host the 19th annual Arkabutla Lake youth raccoon hunt. These hunts will take place on 31 January, 1 February, 7 and 8 February and 14 and 15 February. All applications to participate must be received at the Arkabutla Lake Field Office by 4:30 p. m on Thursday, 16 January 2014.
  • Corps to Host 2013 Wounded Warriors Project Deer Hunt

    Vicksburg, Miss…..The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Vicksburg District will host their second Wounded Warriors’ Deer Hunt on Saturday, 7 December, at the Louisiana Field Office (LFO) recreational area near Columbia. Participants include Purple Heart recipients and disabled soldiers.

  • Arkabutla Lake Hosts Physically Challenged Deer Hunt

    Vicksburg, Miss….The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District will hold its annual Physically Challenged Deer Hunt on December 6 through 9, 2013. There will be two separate hunts with each lasting two days on December 6 and 7 and December 8 and 9. Participants of this special hunt are quadriplegic, paraplegic, use leg braces or crutches.
  • Corps’ Fraud Investigation Unit Starts Fiscal Year 2014 with a Bang

    Vicksburg, Miss……The Corps of Engineers Federal Employees Compensation Act (FECA) Fraud Investigation Unit (FIU) has gotten off to a great start in fiscal year 2014 by saving taxpayers over $3.9 million dollars in workers’ compensation costs. The savings, realized the first month of the new fiscal year, were the result of investigative efforts that uncovered several inaccurate or false claims.
  • Pearl River Lock Repairs Nearing Early Completion

    Vicksburg, Miss… – Repairs to the Pearl River Navigational Canal Lock #2 are expected to be completed ahead of schedule by November 20, 2013. The repair work included backfilling the erosion damages to the east bank along the lock chamber, installing a concrete ditch slope drain, turfing, and repairing the damaged security fence.
