Arkabutla Lake Hosting Public Meeting on Project Master Plan

The Vicksburg District encompasses a 68,000-square-mile area across portions of Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana that holds seven major river basins and incorporates approximately 460 miles of mainline levees. VICKSBURG, Miss… The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Arkabutla Lake Field Office has rescheduled the public meeting regarding the update of the Project Master Plan. The meeting will be held March 23, 2015, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Arkabutla Lake Field office, 5500 Arkabutla Dam Road, Hernando, Mississippi 38632.

The purposes of the meeting are to open channels of communication, identify public interests and concerns, and solicit input on significant issues.

The Project Master Plan is the strategic land use management document that guides the comprehensive management and development of all projects recreational, natural, and cultural resources. The goal of the update is to identify the best management practices to respond to regional needs, resource capabilities, and expressed public interests consistent with the authorized project purposes.

All residents of the community and interested parties are invited to attend and submit comments.
