Vicksburg District Announces Annual Archery Deer Hunt at Grenada Lake

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District announces that Grenada Lake will begin accepting registration soon for its Special Archery-Only Hunt for the 2025-2026 hunting season. Hunters will have the option to use crossbows, compound bows, as well as traditional archery equipment. Registration for the hunt is in-person only and begins Sept 2nd, 2025, at the Grenada Lake Visitor Center. Hunters may register throughout the season. The Visitor Center is open weekly, Monday through Saturday, from 8am-4pm (closed for lunch 1:00-1:30). The designated hunting zone is listed below.

Archery Only Area:  The USACE property located on the South side of Old Highway 8 between 333 Restaurant & Wolf Creek. This area will be open for hunting the following dates:

  • September 12-14, 2025 (Velvet Season – Buck Only) 
  • October 1, 2025 - January 31, 2026 (Either Sex)            

Hunters that register for the Archery-Only Hunt will receive a packet containing all the rules and regulations as well as detailed maps of each designated area. For more information contact the Grenada Lake Visitor Center at (662) 226-5911.
