Published March 6, 2025

VICKSBURG, Miss. –  The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at Arkabutla Lake announces that Hernando Point Recreation Area is experiencing a temporary water outage. The outage is expected to last into the middle of next week until a repair can be made to the area’s water well.

Camping reservations for the area have been closed for the next few days until repairs can be completed. Campers already staying in the area may continue to stay through their reservation with the understanding that the area will be without potable water. All restrooms and shower buildings will also be temporarily closed.

As soon as repairs are completed, we will resume reservations and post an update to our website and social media site.
