Arkabutla Lake Postpones Public Meeting

The Vicksburg District encompasses a 68,000-square-mile area across portions of Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana that holds seven major river basins and incorporates approximately 460 miles of mainline levees. VICKSBURG, Miss… Due to inclement weather, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District’s Arkabutla Lake has postponed a public meeting that was scheduled for tomorrow, March 4, 2015. The meeting was regarding the update of the Project Master Plan, and will be rescheduled for a later date.

The Project Master Plan is the strategic land use management document that guides the comprehensive management and development of all projects recreational, natural, and cultural resources. The goal of the update is to identify the best management practices to respond to regional needs, resource capabilities, and expressed public interests consistent with the authorized project purposes.
