Corps Engineer Jones Earns Civil Engineering License

The Vicksburg District encompasses a 68,000-square-mile area across portions of Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana that holds seven major river basins and incorporates approximately 460 miles of mainline levees. The district is engaged in hundreds of projects and employs approximately 1,000 personnel.

Vicksburg, Miss – Justin Jones of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Vicksburg District recently completed the strenuous requirements and exam to obtain his Professional Civil Engineer license.  Only a licensed engineer may prepare, sign, seal and submit engineering plans and drawings to a public authority for approval, or seal engineering work for public and private clients.

 

Jones is a native of Vicksburg and a graduate of Vicksburg High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in civil and environmental engineering from Mississippi State University. He also recently returned from a deployment in Afghanistan.
