Vicksburg, Miss. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District announces its 2016 National Recreation Reservation System (NRRSTM) plans for recreational areas at lakes DeGray, Greeson and Ouachita in central Arkansas.

The NRRSTM is operated nationally by Reserve America, a contractor responsible for maintaining a national Call Center and an internet site. In 2016, the Vicksburg District campsites may be reserved from May 1 to September 30. Campgrounds will be partially opened on March 1, 2016 and fee season camping rates will apply, but the campsites will be available for use on a first-come, first-served basis until May 1 when reservations may be applied.

About 35 percent of Corps Class A campsites at the Vicksburg District lakes in central Arkansas are included in the NRRSTM . Class A campsites may be reserved up to six months in advance of the date of use by calling the nationwide toll free number, 1-877-444-6777, or by using the internet at www.ReserveUSA.com. During the recreational season, reservations may be made at a campground fee booth for reservations at that recreational area only. The NRRSTM accepts Visa, AMEX, Discover and MasterCard. The NRRS no longer accepts bank checks or certified checks as payment for a reservation.

In 2016, up to 65% of the Class A campsites at DeGray, Greeson and Ouachita will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. If a camping trip is planned on "the spur of the moment", there will be campsites available for customers who do not have reservations.

Class A campgrounds which are on the NRRSTM at the Arkansas lakes include Brady Mountain, Crystal Springs, Joplin, Tompkins Bend and Denby Point at Lake Ouachita; Arlie Moore, Edgewood, Iron Mountain, Caddo Drive, Shouse Ford and Alpine Ridge at DeGray Lake; and Parker Creek, Kirby Landing, and Cowhide Cove at Lake Greeson.

In 2016, reservations for use of picnic shelters or amphitheaters will be made at the particular field office. Oak Bower group camp area is open for reservations this year.
