Vicksburg District - Disabled Veterans Special Hunts

The Vicksburg District hosts special hunts every year designed to provide an outdoor recreational opportunity to individuals who have a permanent physical condition that severely impairs their mobility. The hunters abide by local and state game management laws. They are taken to hunting blinds by four-wheeled all terrain vehicles and assisted during the hunt if needed.

The District partners with local citizens and businesses who donate time and food for the event.
These hunts support the Districts wildlife management practices and are an integral part of the wildlife plan for the area. They provide a unique opportunity to a very special group of participants coming from all over the southeastern United States.

In addition to the hunts, fishing events for the disabled are also hosted annually at Corps Lakes.
